Welcome to Belvoirdale & Gaelic Supreme
We started Belvoirdale in 1985 by buying all the remaining
“Famous Elephant” Handmade Rod Wrapping Silk Thread
from England. We believe there is no handmade silk thread being made anywhere in the world today. We have a dwindling stock of fly fishing supplies for the newbie or the seasoned angler.

SPRITE HAS CEASED DOING BUSINESS AS OF SEPTEMBER 2012
Gaelic Supreme Hooks, Handmade by Sprite in Redditch, England
Initiated in 1987. Finished in 2012. The last commercial English handmade hook maker.
We have a limited stock remaining.
............................
We found a small lost stock of the best-ever floating fly lines:
Original “Masterline Chancellor” Floating Fly Lines.
These lines were designed in California by Sunset line company with the plastic made in Houston TX and the lines made by a new company in the UK.
We also found a small lost stock of the best-ever sinking fly lines made from braided terylene.
“Sunset Line Co. Braided Dacron” Sinking Fly Lines.

Shirl Maisey Designed Ferrules and Reels Seats.
Some of the best ever made. Grahame designed the ferrule tube wall thicknesses to be relative to the inside diameter for the best transmission of power with the least deadening.
Shirl developed an internal taper on the sliding band real seats to provide a good grip on the reel foot. We used only a low lead 18% nickel silver.
We also have some rare and unusual snake and stripping guides.
............................
We have some legendary “H.L. Jennings” Bamboo Rods in stock, and as Homer has retired form making rods I have raised the price of his rods to reflect their worth, particularly against other custom bamboo rods.
and we have also some special order rods with Grahame’s name n thems, ome of the finest bamboo rods ever made.
............................
We met Tom Moran and Homer Jennings in 1986.
We have some new “Jennings-Moran” Bamboo Rods in stock, a
revival of the collaboration that changed rod making in the UK. Tom made some of the best blanks he ever made and Homer finished them, as the original J-M rods were made, one made the blank and the other finished them.
............................
We have the best fishing bags, “Brady Bags” in our inventory. They say when a classic item is no longer made, it’s re-introduction will be a poor version of the original. This is not the case for the “Ariel Salmon Bag” with an improved fastening system oner the original version.
............................
Magic Single Bead Dispensers pop out one bead at a time. Designed for split shot dispensing for match fishers, this is a great way to manage beads used for bead head flies, and any other similar items
............................
Modular Hooks Boxes slot side by side and top to bottom. A very solid small drawer system that can be stacked into any desired configuration. Grahame has one 6 high by 18 wide for all manner of small items he has collected over the years.
............................
World’s Smallest Micro-Swivels - 1/600th ounce, 5/100 gram
in plain brass, for dry fly indicator, nymph and steelhead fishing. This is about half the size of any other small swivel, and the superior design known as a Rolling design swivel. The Rolling is from Dr. Rolling who designed the superior design for a metal swivel, and unfortunate name that has caused a great deal of confusion.
............................
“Phoenix Side Cast Reels” cast a country mile for lake, saltwater,
River, lake and saltwater capable reels. Carp and catfish fishing, and all the fish a suf caster can dream of. These came all the way from South Africa. These reels were designed to replace the Side Cast Reels made in the UK by Grice and Young.
............................
We also have the last of the Original “Pex” Floats from England made by Jeff Steel, the original manufacturer. He automated a factory that looked like it was making aerospace or medical devices.
............................
We named our hobby Belvoirdale because Grahame came from Leicester in the UK in the “Vale of Belvoir”. We also adopted the Logo “Gaelic Supreme” as the former Logo of a company selling hooks made by Allcocks, the company Vinces dad worked for and the system Vince Green adopted for his hooks.
